A woman's decision to continue with her pregnancy, or not, is usually heavily influenced by how well supported she feels she is. Research suggests that 60% of friends and family have no idea how to support women and do not know which organisations offer support services and counselling to pregnant women.
If someone you know is facing a difficult decision, it is important that you respond with love, making sure they know you will support them in any way you can. Do not be afraid to direct them to the appropriate service: emotional and decision-making counselling; abortion grief counselling; or practical support agencies as necessary.
